Child & Youth Safety

The safety and well-being of our young people is embedded in our organisation. HVAM Inc ensures everyone we engage with has, at least, a RWVP Check. Those who are working with our youth members directly must undergo a National police check. Our induction process includes an introduction to the Child & Youth Safe Organisational Framework and the Upstander Ally Program.

Inclusivity & Respect

We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment for all members. HVAM Inc is open to all LGBTQIA+ young people, and their friends and families. We are a neuro-affirming organisation; and, we support and encourage queer Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth to join us. 

We value diversity and are committed to creating a space where everyone feels welcome and respected.

Conflict Resolution

We understand that disagreements may arise from time to time. We have a process in place to address conflicts fairly and effectively. Conflicts should be reported to the director as soon as possible to be addressed at the next board meeting. If there are problems concerning the Director or other board members and the complainant is not comfortable brining this up there are alternative avenues to take to resolve conflicts.

We encourage open communication and seek to find resolutions that respect all parties involved.
